My Assistance Dog Experience

Maureen Patterson

Maureen was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in January 2002, at 44 years of age.  She is the Co-Facilitator of the Reynoldsburg Support Group. Information about the group meeting time and location, as well as all of our support groups, is found on our Support Groups page. Maureen will be sharing her experience with our readers periodically in issues of our newsletter.  They will also be available on this website.

If you have questions when reading the information she shares, please feel free to contact our office, and we will forward the questions to her. As you read this, if it sparks your personal interest, please act on that feeling.  These dogs are wonderful helpers for many disabled persons and offer constant companionship as well.  Therapy dogs are also great for persons with special mental and emotional needs as therapy dogs.  Investigate the website at www.adai.org, or email the Client Services Director, Jenny Barlos, or call 419.825.3622.

Please use the links below to read her story, and keep checking back as she continues to share her story.
